How to Prepare
Usucha (Thin Tea)|
Sift 1.5–2g of matcha into a bowl. Add 60–100ml of hot water and whisk briskly with a chasen until smooth and frothy.
Koicha (Thick Tea)
Use 4–5g of matcha with 30–50ml of hot water. Gently knead with a chasen until thick, smooth and glossy.
For the best flavour, use water at around 70–80°C rather than boiling water.
Storage
Store in a cool, dark and dry place, away from moisture and strong odours. Refrigeration can help preserve freshness. Once opened, keep tightly sealed and consume as soon as possible.
